The wonderful world of Pinterest

From my early days in art class and later at University, I’ve always kept visual diaries of all things that inspired me. Often these books were filled with scribbled ideas, torn bits of magazine pages with added handwritten notes, flyers from galleries/exhibitions or even just swatches of new colours I loved that week. These books often bulged at the spine as the year drew to a close. Whilst I still have those books and several new ones, I am so glad I came across Pinterest earlier this year.

Pinterest, is virtual inspiration board where you can pin anything that catches your eye on the web and neatly file them away for future reference with the original source link still attached to the image. I just love how there is no end to what you can pin and how much you can pin. Best of all it saves on paper, money and the space needed for storing all those visual diaries.

I often get complimented for my creative eye and thought it would be a great to share with you what inspires me and why I have chosen to pin what I pin. As you can see my boards are organised into basic themes both photography and design related, both of which play an important role in the way I think and visualise ideas. So, coming up next week will be the start of the ‘Inspiration Monday’ series. I hope it will get you excited about starting your own boards too and kick start your week with that extra boost in creativity. Fanni x
